A woman begins to sing, but everyone is taken aback by her perplexing voice
For Emily Bland’s America’s Got Talent (AGT) audition, Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” was the perfect choice for the big reveal.
Emily, an Arkansas hotel front desk employee, went to the performance to show off her singing abilities. But in a brief exchange with the judges, she surprised everyone by turning out to be hilarious.
Simon asked her about the most difficult guest she had ever had, and she wryly said,
“All right, I don’t want to bring my mother into disrepute. Her name is Karen.”
Already, the judges and audience were enchanted.
At 29, Emily has a remarkable voice that has to be heard in order to be completely understood.
She showed off her admiration for Garth Brooks by surprising everyone by singing like a male country artist.
Even the judges, who are used to seeing a range of acts, were surprised by what transpired.
The judges’ and audience’s jaws dropped in admiration at Emily’s incredible baritone voice.
The collective amazement was perfectly captured by a viewer:
That definitely doesn’t sound like her voice, I thought at first. After a few seconds, I asked myself, “Wow, is that her voice?”
Everyone was in awe with Emily’s rendition of Josh Turner’s “Your Man.”
“That’s not you!” Sofia Vergara had to interrupt Emily after she had done speaking.
A man did indeed emerge from the rear, accompanying Emily to the platform and announcing himself as her husband.
The guy with the cowboy hat said, “Yep, that was me singing.”
“So you’re a ventriloquist and your wife is your puppet?” said the witty, quick-witted Howie Mandel.
While her husband nodded and tried to put his hand around her, Emily shook her head.
Everyone laughed at Howie’s witty caution, “Not to put his hand in her.”
Simon Cowell expressed his displeasure by saying,
“I thought that was her singing, so I’m a little disappointed.”
“I don’t even know how to judge this thing,” Sofia said.
Despite the obvious surprise and bewilderment, Emily’s talent persisted.
Her ventriloquism skills astounded Simon, who remarked, “You look so much better in real life.”
Emily then showed off her amazing talent by doing the same trick with Sofia Vergara with ease. To everyone’s surprise, she even went one step further and did it perfectly while Heidi Klum was speaking in German.
Her ability to mimic many voices and even learn a challenging language like German was simply amazing.
One of the viewers commented:
Both of them were able to hold my interest, even though I’ve never seen anything like it before. I find myself wanting to witness more of their performances for an unknown reason. Like the underdogs on AGT, they seem to have the capacity to have a big influence on the show. They add something new and different to the table.
Although the judges’ responses to the act varied, most of them were favorable.
Howie, Heidi, and Sofia all excitedly agreed, while Simon, who was still thinking about the performance, used a question mark to indicate his hesitancy.
Despite some early misunderstanding, Emily’s performance was genuinely unforgettable.
Her special fusion of comedy, ventriloquism, and vocal ability made her performance on AGT quite remarkable.
Emily Bland is anything but dull; she brings a charming and fascinating energy to the stage.
Her act, which combines ventriloquism and amazing voice impersonation, stands out among many other performers due to her extraordinary talent.
